Mark the location of the screw holes so that you can remove the brackets and drill the holes you need. Once your holes are drilled, use a bit of bar soap on the screw threads to ensure that they go in smoothly. This is a great trick that can -- and should -- be applied whenever you use screws in your walls or windows!
After hanging the side brackets, gently snap the valance clips into the front lip of the headrail. Then, insert the headrail into the side mounting brackets and close the swivel covers to lock your blinds into place. You're one step away from having hung your first set of beautiful custom blinds .
In this final step, you'll be adding a valance to your horizontal blinds by very carefully snapping first the upper and then the lower edge of the included valance into the valance bracket. Now you're free to add curtains or other special touches to finish off your window decor.
